CreateAthon 2008
10/26/08
Jennifer Cherock, VP, Planning Services
Hard to believe that CreateAthon has come and gone once again! It was quite difficult to choose between all of the amazing nonprofit organization who applied to be apart of this very special project but we're thrilled with groups that were selected! The work was intense and challenging but we were able to keep the midnight oil burning with plenty of coffee, sugar, and of course, dedication.
This was the second year that Trio participated in CreatAthon. And for those of you not familiar with the project, it's a 24-hour, work around-the-clock
creative blitz designed to help local nonprofits that have little or no marketing dollars. Our staff, along with a few generous and creative partners
(big shout outs to Brian Dadin, Brad Caricofe and the crew at Cultigraphic!), provided free marketing services and volunteered our personal and professional time to accomplish these projects. On September 18, we started out at 8 a.m. and worked all through the night - and morning! We then presented the finished products to our clients on Friday morning. I must admit, we were in rare form that Friday morning after being up all night, but it was definitely worth it once we saw our clients' reactions.
The beneficiaries and the work that was produced for them are as follows:
- Camp Good Times
- Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy
- Family Resource Center for Disabilities and Special Needs
- Fields to Families
- Lowcountry Environmental Education Programs (LEEP)
I'd like to thank each of the nonprofits for allowing us the opportunity to help them make a difference in our community. It was such a pleasure getting to know each of them and we can only hope that our efforts will assist them in growing and reaching their goals.
