The Nonprofit Nook Web Site Launches
05/06/08
Jessica Johnston, VP, Client Relations
Over the past year we have been working diligently on the development of The Nonprofit Nook. The Nonprofit Nook (otherwise known as "The Nook") is the brainchild of Jessica Munday and Krista Robertson. These two marketing gurus wanted to develop a tool for nonprofits that would encourage them to utilize marketing and communications to further their organization's mission. Thus was born the Nook!
The Nook is the place on the World Wide Web for nonprofits making the most of marketing, events and the Web. It is a one-stop resource - providing free information, services and support. It is our hope that the Nook will also serve as a networking site for members. We were thrilled to officially launch the Web site at the annual South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organizations (SCANPO) Conference this April in Charleston. At the conference we were able to sign up over 60 individuals to be part of the Nook focus group. As participants, they will provide feedback and suggestions on the site. It is our hope that by utilizing this group of nonprofit professionals, we will be able to make continuous improvements to the site and help to ensure that it is a valuable resource for the nonprofit community.
As some of you already know, we are also hosting monthly workshops as part of the Nook. The topics vary between marketing, event planning and Web. The workshops cost $15 for SCANPO members and $25 for non-members. Not only is it an opportunity for the Trio staff to share their expertise, but it has also become another great networking opportunity for attendees. Our next workshop, Greening Your Event-tips on how to lighten the impact on our environment and impress your guests, will be held May 15, 2008 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Trio Solutions office.
