Trio Solutions Inc. hosts farewell celebration for Djole's mission trip to Africa

North Charleston, SC --- Trio Solutions Inc., a local marketing firm that specializes in working with nonprofit and health care organizations, surprised the children of Djole (pronounced "jo-lay") Dance and Drum Company, a West African dance group for children from the Union Heights community in North Charleston, with a party to celebrate their long-awaited mission trip to Africa. The farewell celebration was held just days before the group's August 2 departure for a 16-day journey to Ghana to help African artists educate children about AIDS prevention. Djole will bring a perspective of children speaking to children through the arts.

Trio Solutions Inc. became involved with Djole through a relationship with the Medical University of South Carolina in 2004 and has worked closely with the Union Heights community over the past two years to bring awareness to the organization. Trio Solution's efforts have been demonstrated through the in-kind donation of the development of Djole's Web site and online giving capabilities as well coordinating and overseeing fund-raising events including a golf tournament and a silent auction. These efforts finally paid off for the group. Djole raised approximately $140K to fund their trip to Ghana. The group returns to Charleston on August 18.

Djole Dance Company was established in 1999 through a neighborhood improvement project conducted by the Medical University of South Carolina, the City of North Charleston, and the Union Heights neighborhood. Djole is currently funded through Gethsemani Circle of Friends, a nonprofit organization that was developed out of a need to provide educational, recreational, cultural, health, and family cohesion activities and social services in an inner-city neighborhood.
